Call for Pitches: Issue 5

We are soliciting pitches for an upcoming issue of Logic.

Logic is a magazine about technology and society that publishes three times per year. We're trying to ask the right questions about how technology works, and whom it works for. Learn more about the magazine, and read our manifesto, at logicmag.io.

We’re seeking reported articles, features, essays, and profiles. We pay $150 for shorter essays of 1000-1200 words, and $400 for longer features of 2000-3000 words and up.

Issue 5: Failure

Our Failure issue will explore how technology fails us—and how we fail technology.

Machines malfunction, fall short of our expectations, or behave in weird and unhelpful ways. Software makes demands of us we can’t possibly fulfill. Startups die, and their founders fail up—or down. Venture capitalists lose money, and call it the cost of innovation. A win for some is a loss for others: technical and financial successes breed social and ecological failures.

Please send pitches to editors@logicmag.io by February 1st with the subject line "Pitch: Failure Issue."
